Diplomatic talks between BNP and former EU ambassador

A meeting was held in Brussels between the BNP delegation and Charles Whiteley, former EU Ambassador to Bangladesh and current Head of the South Asia Division at the European External Action Service (EEAS). Present at the meeting were EEAS officials Len Villadsen and Roshan Lyman. Representing the BNP virtually was Standing Committee Member Dr. Abdul Moyeen Khan, along with other delegation members including Barrister Abu Sayem, advisor on human rights to the party’s acting chairman and member of BNP’s Foreign Relations and Media Cell; Saidur Rahman Liton, National Executive Committee member and President of Belgium BNP; Iqbal Hossain Babu, General Secretary of Belgium BNP and Foreign Relations Committee member; and Mohammad Khairuzzaman Lincoln, former International Affairs Secretary of Jubo Dal. The discussions focused on Bangladesh’s human rights conditions, political climate, freedom of expression, and challenges ahead of the upcoming national election. Charles Whiteley reaffirmed his strong support for the people of Bangladesh and expressed hope that the country would overcome its obstacles and return to a democratic path that ensures the rights of its citizens.
