Key Suspect in Deepto TV’s Tamim Murder Arrested

In Dhaka’s Rampura Mahanagar Project area, the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested Mamunur Rashid Mamun (55), a key suspect named in the case involving the murder of Deepto TV broadcast officer Tanzil Jahan Tamim (34). According to a RAB-3 press release on Sunday, Mamun was apprehended in the Hatirjheel area of the capital.
The incident dates back to October 10, when Tamim was beaten to death in his home in the Mahanagar Project. The attack allegedly stemmed from a dispute with Pleasant Properties, a developer company, over ownership of a flat constructed on Tamim’s family land. During the altercation, 20-25 individuals stormed the house, and Tamim was severely beaten. He succumbed to his injuries after being taken to a hospital.
Tamim’s father alleged that the attack was orchestrated by Sheikh Rabiul Alam Rabi, the head of Pleasant Properties. Following the incident, the victim’s family filed a case naming 16 individuals as suspects.
