Gold prices have increased once again in Bangladesh, with the highest rise being BDT 2,823 per bhori (11.664 grams). The price of the best quality 22-carat gold has now been set at BDT 142,266 per bhori.
This announcement came through a press release signed by Masudur Rahman, Chairman of the Pricing and Monitoring Committee of the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS), on Saturday.
The press release mentioned that the price adjustment reflects the rising cost of refined gold in the local market. The new prices will take effect starting Sunday.
According to the updated pricing, 22-carat gold will cost BDT 142,266 per bhori, 21-carat gold BDT 135,804 per bhori, 18-carat gold BDT 116,396 per bhori, and traditional-method gold BDT 95,645 per bhori.
Earlier, on Thursday, gold prices were increased by BDT 1,994 per bhori, following a prior hike of BDT 2,940 just two days before that. In total, gold prices have risen by BDT 7,757 per bhori across three adjustments in less than a week.
Despite the increase in gold prices, the price of silver remains unchanged. Per bhori, 22-carat silver is priced at BDT 2,578, 21-carat at BDT 2,449, 18-carat at BDT 2,111, and traditional-method silver at BDT 1,586.
