NCP Delegation Visits Jamuna to Meet Interim Government Chief Advisor
A delegation from the National Citizens’ Party (NCP) has arrived in Jamuna to meet Professor Muhammad Yunus, the Chief Advisor of the interim government. The four-member team includes NCP’s Chief Organizer (Southern Region) Hasnat Abdullah, Senior Joint Convener Ariful Islam Adib, Senior Joint Secretary Tasnim Zara, and Senior Joint Chief Coordinator Abdul Hannan Masud.
The NCP delegation entered the Chief Advisor’s residence in Jamuna at 5:30 PM on Sunday.
Earlier, at 4:30 PM, the Chief Advisor met with representatives from Jamaat-e-Islami at the same location. A meeting with BNP is scheduled for 7:30 PM.
The country’s political climate has become tense amid ongoing disagreements among political parties over the implementation of the July Accord. In response to the situation, the Chief Advisor called the three parties for a discussion.
The current situation escalated following a clash on Friday night between members of the Jatiya Party and the Ganadhikar Parishad, during which Nurul Haque was injured in baton charges by the military and police. The incident has drawn condemnation and protests from nearly all political parties, including the interim government.
According to sources, today’s discussions with political parties may also address potential actions against the Jatiya Party, considering its association with the previously banned Awami League government.
