Nurul Haq Nur Leaves Hospital After 18 Days of Treatment
Gono Odhikar Parishad President Nurul Haq Nur, who was seriously injured in a clash in Dhaka’s Kakrail area, has been released from Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) after receiving treatment for 18 days.
Hospital Director Brigadier General Md. Asaduzzaman confirmed the development on Monday, September 15. He said Nur’s health condition had improved, and based on the recommendation of a medical board, he was discharged earlier in the day.
According to hospital sources, Nur was rushed to DMCH immediately after the incident, where an emergency medical board was formed to initiate treatment. He was later transferred to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in the old building’s fourth floor.
A 10-member specialist team was subsequently formed to oversee his recovery. Under their supervision, Nur gradually improved before being declared fit for release.
The clash that left Nur injured took place on the night of August 29 in Bijoynagar between activists of the Jatiya Party (JP) and Gono Odhikar Parishad. Police intervened with baton charges to bring the situation under control, during which more than 50 people, including Nur, sustained serious injuries.
Initially, Nur was admitted to Islami Bank Hospital but was later transferred to DMCH around 11 pm for advanced care, following doctors’ advice.
