BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed emphasized the importance of building broader national consensus, stating that it could play a crucial role in shaping the country’s future. Speaking ahead of the BNP delegation’s dialogue with the National Consensus Commission on Tuesday, April 22, he stressed that the reform process should not be rushed. According to him, discussions on the Constitutional Reform Commission report are nearing conclusion, with new talks beginning on judicial matters. He noted that BNP is engaging in detailed, step-by-step discussions on each commission’s proposals. Salahuddin also reaffirmed the party’s commitment to an independent judiciary, supporting measures such as a separate secretariat and transparent judicial appointments, while underscoring the need for all reforms to remain within legal and constitutional boundaries.
