Abdus Salam, a valiant freedom fighter and senior political figure currently serving as an adviser to the BNP chairperson, has been admitted to a hospital in Dhaka following a sudden deterioration in his health. He is now under the supervision of a medical team.

According to family members, Salam fell ill earlier this week and was immediately taken to the hospital for urgent treatment. Physicians have since been closely monitoring his condition and have recommended that he remain on strict rest to support his recovery.

The family has appealed to all well-wishers, party leaders, and activists to keep him in their prayers, expressing hope that he will regain his health soon. In line with medical advice, they have also requested that no visitors attempt to meet him in person at the hospital at this time, as uninterrupted rest is considered essential for his treatment.

Abdus Salam is widely respected both as a freedom fighter and as a seasoned politician. During Bangladesh’s Liberation War in 1971, he risked his life for the country’s independence, earning recognition for his courage and patriotism. Following the war, he became actively engaged in national politics and has been an important voice within the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) for decades.

As a close adviser to the BNP chairperson, he has contributed to shaping the party’s political strategies and policies, and is regarded as a trusted figure within the BNP’s leadership circle.

News of his illness has sparked concern among party colleagues, political associates, and admirers across the country, many of whom have expressed solidarity with his family during this difficult time.
