Chief Advisor to Leave for Japan Tomorrow

Dr. Muhammad Yunus, the Chief Advisor of Bangladesh’s interim government, is set to visit Japan on a four-day official trip, departing from Dhaka late at night on May 27. During the visit, Bangladesh and Japan are expected to sign seven memorandums of understanding (MoUs), and Bangladesh will formally request $1 billion in budgetary support from Japan.
The details were shared by Acting Foreign Secretary Ruhul Alam Siddique at a press briefing organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday, May 26.
As part of the trip, Dr. Yunus will participate in the Nikkei Forum’s “Future of Asia” conference and hold a bilateral meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba on May 30.
The Chief Advisor is scheduled to return to Dhaka on May 31.
