Additional Secretary Shahjahan Mia assumes DSCC Administrator role

The government has appointed Md. Shahjahan Mia, an Additional Secretary of the Local Government Ministry, as the new Administrator of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC). A notification issued on Thursday confirmed his appointment, stating that the recently promoted Additional Secretary will assume the responsibilities and powers of the DSCC Mayor under Section 25A (3) of the Local Government (City Corporation) (Amendment) Ordinance, 2024. He will undertake this role in addition to his current duties and will be entitled to an allowance for the responsibility, but no other financial or additional benefits.
