Legal Action to Be Taken Against Unauthorized Restaurants: DSCC

The Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has announced the cancellation of trade licenses for all restaurants operating outside the approved building designs, including rooftop restaurants.
In a public notice issued on Monday (April 28), the DSCC stated that certain residential and commercial buildings in its jurisdiction were operating restaurants without approval from the Rajuk authorities. Additionally, illegal rooftop restaurants were being run on the rooftops of these buildings, posing risks to public safety.
The notice further highlighted that accidents resulting in loss of property and lives had occurred due to such unauthorized operations. Several illegal businesses had obtained trade licenses through unethical means.
To mitigate these risks to public safety, the DSCC has declared that all trade licenses for restaurants operating outside approved designs and rooftop restaurants are canceled from the date of the notice. It was also stated that legal action would be taken against anyone conducting business using these canceled licenses.
