8 Top Officials of Sheikh Hasina’s Government Arrested in Fresh Cases

Former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s private sector and investment advisor Salman F. Rahman and former law minister Anisul Haque, along with six others, have been newly shown arrested in various cases by a Dhaka court.

 

On Monday, the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court of Dhaka approved their arrests in connection with multiple charges.

 

Apart from Salman F. Rahman and Anisul Haque, the others include former social welfare minister Dr. Dipu Moni, former state minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak, former minister Hasanul Haq Inu, former minister Rashed Khan Menon, former MP Haji Selim, and former IGP Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun.

 

The police investigation officers of the respective cases presented the accused before the court earlier in the day, requesting formal arrest orders, which the court granted.

 

Salman F. Rahman faces charges in four cases under Jatrabari Police Station and one under Mohammadpur Police Station. Anisul Haque is accused in seven cases under Jatrabari Police Station, and one case each under Mohammadpur and Khilgaon Police Stations. Dr. Dipu Moni faces two cases under Jatrabari Police Station, while Zunaid Ahmed Palak is implicated in two cases under Jatrabari and one under Sutrapur Police Stations.

 

Additionally, Rashed Khan Menon faces five cases under Jatrabari Police Station, Hasanul Haq Inu also faces five cases under the same station, Haji Selim is involved in one case under Jatrabari, and Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun faces charges in six cases under Jatrabari, two under Mohammadpur, two under Sutrapur, and one under Khilgaon Police Station.
