Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) intelligence unit (DB) has arrested former Secretary Abu Alam Mohammad Shahid Khan in connection with a case filed at Shahbagh Police Station in the capital.
The DMP’s Media and Public Relations Division reported this in a brief statement on Monday. Shahid Khan had recently gained attention after appearing on several television talk shows.
According to the statement, the DB detained a total of six individuals, including Shahid Khan and five others who participated in a sudden demonstration.
However, the statement did not specify the exact time or location of their arrest.
The DMP said the operation was carried out over allegations of attempts to disturb public order and cause disruption through the sudden rally in Dhaka. Alongside the former secretary, five others were taken into custody at the scene, and legal action has been initiated against them.
