A mild to moderate heatwave is sweeping across Dhaka and 14 other districts, causing discomfort for residents. However, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department has forecast thunderstorms and rain for four days starting Friday, bringing some relief.
According to the weather bulletin issued for the 24-hour period from 6 PM on Thursday, an extended low-pressure system is stretching over West Bengal and its surrounding areas, while the seasonal low is positioned over the South Bay of Bengal. The heatwave currently affecting several regions is expected to persist.
On Friday, temporary gusty winds and thunderstorms may occur in some parts of Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions. The rest of the country is likely to experience mostly dry weather with partly cloudy skies. Day and night temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged across the country.
Similar weather conditions are anticipated on Saturday, with possible thunderstorms in parts of Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet. While dry weather will dominate elsewhere, daytime temperatures may slightly decrease, while nighttime temperatures may rise slightly.
By Sunday, thunderstorms and gusty winds may affect some areas in Rajshahi, Khulna, Mymensingh, and Sylhet, while other regions will continue to experience dry and partly cloudy conditions. Both daytime and nighttime temperatures may see a slight drop across the country.
On Monday, isolated thunderstorms and gusty winds may occur in parts of Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet, while dry weather is likely to prevail elsewhere. Temperatures are expected to remain stable nationwide.
