BNP Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Annie stated that there is no chance of forgiving Sheikh Hasina and the Awami League, emphasizing that their oppression and tyranny have made Hasina effectively banned and that the Awami League will also be banned. He made these remarks on Thursday, February 6, while addressing the prize distribution ceremony of the annual sports competition at Lakshmipur Municipal Shaheed Smriti Academy as the chief guest.

Annie remarked that after August 5, some suggested forgiving the Awami League, but he insisted there was no room for that. He questioned why they had not yet been officially banned, arguing that such decisions require legal action rather than spontaneous declarations. He reiterated that given the crimes and oppression committed by Hasina and her party, banning them is inevitable.

He further stated that if an election takes place, BNP will work towards officially banning the Awami League through parliamentary discussions with public support. He accused Hasina of ordering killings, committing atrocities, engaging in corruption, and looting, asserting that BNP will never allow her to go unpunished.

Annie also highlighted BNP’s commitment to the student and youth movements, recalling their struggles and imprisonments. He urged everyone to unite in shaping a better future for the next generation and reaffirmed BNP’s dedication to building a prosperous Bangladesh.

The event was presided over by Rezaul Karim Liton, president of the school’s governing committee, and conducted by headmaster Aulad Hossain Chowdhury. Other notable attendees included District BNP Member Secretary Sahab Uddin Sabu, Acting Upazila Secondary Education Officer Mohammad Didar Hossain, and Lakshmipur BRDB Chairman Nizam Uddin Bhuiyan.
