Residents of Bangladesh’s capital may experience warmer conditions throughout the day as temperatures are expected to rise slightly, even as light rain and isolated thunderstorms remain possible, according to the latest forecast issued by the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).

In its six-hour weather outlook issued Saturday morning, the department said Dhaka’s sky is likely to remain partly cloudy to temporarily cloudy, with the possibility of brief spells of rain or thunderstorms in some areas. Southerly and south-easterly winds are expected to blow at speeds of 10 to 15 kilometers per hour, contributing to humid conditions and an increased feeling of heat.

Weather officials reported that the temperature in Dhaka stood at 27.0 degrees Celsius at 6:00 a.m., while relative humidity reached a high 97 percent. The city recorded a maximum temperature of 32.4 degrees Celsius on Friday, while Saturday’s minimum temperature was 26.8 degrees Celsius.

The forecast also noted that Dhaka received 20 millimeters of rainfall during the previous 24 hours. Despite the chance of rain, meteorologists expect daytime temperatures to rise slightly across much of the country, while nighttime temperatures are likely to remain nearly unchanged.

Elsewhere in Bangladesh, moderate to moderately heavy rainfall may occur in some regions. The highest temperature recorded in the country during the past 24 hours was 36 degrees Celsius in Dimla, while Sylhet reported the lowest temperature at 24 degrees Celsius. Srimangal recorded the highest rainfall total, receiving 57 millimeters of precipitation.

Meanwhile, the Storm Warning Center stated that no cautionary signals are currently required for inland river ports, with no weather warning issued for the period between 5:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.

Meteorologists advise residents to remain prepared for sudden weather changes, as humid conditions, intermittent rain, and rising temperatures are expected to shape the day’s weather across several parts of the country.
