DSE Indices Rise as Turnover Increases

On Wednesday, February 5, the fourth trading day of the week, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), the country’s main stock market, experienced a rise in indices accompanied by a slight increase in trading activity. Most company share prices also saw gains, according to DSE sources.
By the end of the day’s trading, the benchmark index, DSEX, rose by 22.72 points to settle at 5,270 points. Among the other indices, the Shariah Index (DSES) increased by 7.94 points, reaching 1,147 points, while the DS30 Index, which tracks the top 30 companies, climbed 3.61 points to 1,914 points.
The total turnover for the day stood at 471.15 crore BDT, up from 444.41 crore BDT in the previous session. Out of 401 companies traded, 207 saw their share prices increase, 129 experienced declines, and 65 remained unchanged.
