Dhaka Stock Exchange Turnover Falls Below Tk300 Crore

The Dhaka Stock Exchange’s (DSE) benchmark index, DSEX, declined by 14 points today, 8 December, closing at 5,181. The blue-chip DS30 index also dropped by 3 points, settling at 1,908. Daily turnover fell sharply, dropping 12.53% to Tk293 crore, marking the first time in 36 days it dipped below the Tk300 crore threshold, as investor participation waned.
Of the traded stocks, 87 gained, 248 declined, and 60 remained unchanged. Bangladesh Shipping Corporation led the turnover chart, with shares worth Tk8.92 crore changing hands, followed by Square Pharma and NRB Bank.
Sonargaon Textile emerged as the top gainer with a 9.60% increase in its share price, followed by HR Textile and Monno Fabrics. On the other hand, First Prime Finance Mutual Fund was the day’s worst performer, trailed by Dula Mia Cotton and Atlas Bangladesh.
