ACC launches probe into corruption allegations against two former aides of advisors

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has launched an intelligence investigation into corruption allegations against former APS and PO of two advisors. On Sunday, April 27, ACC Director General Akhtar Hossain announced at a press conference that surveillance activities had commenced following media reports. The two individuals under investigation are Moazzem Hossain, former APS to Interim Government Advisor Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan, and Tuhin Farabi, personal officer to the Health Advisor. Earlier the same day, the Bangladesh Youth Rights Council staged a protest in front of the National Press Club against alleged multi-crore lobbying activities involving the two former officials. Later, they held a demonstration in front of the ACC headquarters in Segunbagicha under the “March to ACC” program. During the protest, a six-member delegation, including the organization’s president and general secretary, met ACC Chairman Abdul Momen and issued a 15-day ultimatum demanding investigation and arrest of those involved.
