BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has stated that coming to power must be about fulfilling the dreams of the martyrs. Speaking at an urgent press briefing held at the BNP’s central office in Naya Paltan on Sunday (June 29), Rizvi announced that the party would observe a series of programs from July 1 to August 6 to mark the July uprising, with acting chairman Tarique Rahman participating in the events. He added that Chhatra Dal will place flowers at the Central Shaheed Minar at midnight on Monday, June 30.

He emphasized that the July uprising was not just about voting or gaining power—it represented a deeper struggle, and any future government must honor that legacy by realizing the aspirations of those who sacrificed their lives.

Rizvi further alleged that the current government, which he labeled a fallen authoritarian regime, is deliberately destabilizing the country. Referring to an incident in Cumilla, he claimed an Awami League leader was involved in a rape case, which was then falsely blamed on BNP. He accused the ruling party of systematically building such networks to frame the opposition and criticized the government’s slow response to justice, saying it has encouraged more such incidents. Rizvi also demanded exemplary punishment for the perpetrators in the Muradnagar case.
