A special audition class for aspiring new models has kicked off in the capital, organized by Bangladesh Fashion Runway Week. This initiative aims to guide the young generation into the modeling profession. According to the organizers, this audition is not merely a competition, but a training program to teach the fundamentals of a modeling career.
The audition took place on Friday (September 19) in the Niketan area of Dhaka. On the first day alone, around 70 participants took part, out of which 25 were selected for the next phase. From among these fresh talents, the most promising individuals will be gradually groomed into professional models.
The audition panel included renowned model and choreographer Ruma Sayed, fashion expert Suman Hossain, model Maria Kispatta, actress Raj Ripa, fashion trainer Azad Farzana Limi, brand owner Sumona Sumi, and fashion designer Sohan Karim. The judges evaluated participants based on ramp walk, confidence, camera expressions, and outfit selection.
Speaking on behalf of the organizing committee, Suman Hossain said, “Beauty alone is not enough to be a successful model. Confidence, personality, and regular training are essential. Our audition classes emphasize these key aspects. Those selected will gradually evolve into refined models through real-world experience.”
From the very first day, participants received hands-on training. They were taught how to walk the ramp properly, present themselves confidently in front of the camera, and select suitable outfits. Additionally, experienced trainers provided guidance on mental preparation and professionalism in the industry.
One of the new participants, Shakira, said, “I learned a lot on the very first day. The way the trainers instructed us on body posture and eye expressions during the ramp walk will definitely help me in the future.”
The organizers of Bangladesh Fashion Runway Week are hopeful that this audition class will introduce many fresh faces to the fashion industry. They believe that these emerging talents will not only represent the country but also make a mark on international platforms.
The event has sparked great enthusiasm among participants. Organizers have announced that after completing all phases of training, a grand ramp show will be held, where newcomers will get the opportunity to walk the runway alongside experienced models.
