At the invitation of the head of the interim government, Dr. Muhammad Yunus, a delegation from the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) is set to meet with him on Saturday evening. The delegation, led by BNP Standing Committee member Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, is scheduled to arrive at the state guesthouse Jamuna around 7:30 PM, according to the party’s press wing.

This meeting follows an announcement made on Friday night by the chief advisor’s press wing, stating that Dr. Yunus would meet BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami separately. The meeting with BNP is scheduled for 7 PM and with Jamaat at 8 PM.

Previously, BNP leader Salahuddin Ahmed alleged that since May 19, the party had been attempting to secure a meeting with the chief advisor but had received no response. He claimed certain elements within the government—aligned with the Awami League or driven by ambition—view BNP as an adversary, which hindered communication.

Meanwhile, on Thursday, the central executive council of Jamaat-e-Islami held an emergency meeting, during which its leader urged Dr. Yunus to convene a national all-party dialogue to address the current crisis.

Also on Thursday evening, Nahid Islam, convener of the Nationalist Citizen’s Party (NCP), met with the chief advisor. During their discussion, he urged Dr. Yunus to reflect on the aspirations tied to the July uprising, the sacrifices made, the nation’s trust in him, and the need for national unity before taking any major decision.
