In protest against Israel’s aggression in Gaza, mass protests, marches, and class-exam boycotts are being held across Bangladesh. As part of the protest, a group of young people organized a march in front of the U.S. Embassy in Gulshan on Monday, April 7. The protest, which began at around 11:45 AM, caused traffic disruption as the protesters blocked the main road in front of the embassy. Police were stationed at the front of the march to maintain control, while military personnel formed a human barricade around the embassy.

The area was tightly controlled, with most people being searched, and no one was allowed to stand on the sidewalks or roads. By 12 PM, one lane of the main road was cleared, allowing traffic to resume, although the protests continued. Senior police officers from the Gulshan division were also present at the scene.

Protesters from Presidency University, participating in the demonstration, expressed their firm belief in Gaza’s victory, stating that as long as the earth exists, the land of Islam will never be destroyed. They called for global Muslim unity and the declaration of Jihad, seeing this protest as the first step.

Earlier, students from Brac University in Badda and Dhaka University also participated in similar protests. In addition, protests were organized in Jahangirnagar University (Jabi), as well as in Dhamaari and Ashulia, demanding a boycott of Israeli products and condemning the brutal attacks on Palestine.

The protest at Shahbagh also witnessed participation from ordinary citizens. The global strike, named “The World Stops for Gaza,” received support from students at Chittagong University (Chabi) and Rajshahi University (Rabi), with various groups from different professions and backgrounds participating in protests across the country.

On April 6, in response to the Israeli attacks, the Palestinian National and Islamic Forces declared a worldwide general strike, supported by Palestinian factions including those led by Yasser Arafat and Marwan Barghouti, as reported by Palestinian news agency Wafa.
