Crocodiles usually live in rivers, canals or reservoirs. It’s supposed to be a little startling when that crocodile comes up the road. A video of such a scene has gone viral on social media. Where a crocodile is seen walking on a steep road.

The incident took place in Ratnagiri, a coastal district of Maharashtra, India. Indian news media NDTV reported on Monday (July 1) that commuters filmed the crocodile walking on the streets of Chiplun after heavy rains.

As seen in the video, it is still drizzling. As the road is a bit dark, the cars are running with their lights on. At that time, a large crocodile is walking in front of the car. And the cars are moving forward by side him.

Locals suspect that the crocodile came from the nearby Shiva river. Shiva River is also known as the habitat of crocodiles. It is one of the three crocodile species in India, apart from the saltwater and gharial crocodiles.

Incidentally, Chiplun and other places in Ratnagiri district have been receiving continuous rain for the past few days. Due to continuous rains, the water in the rivers of the district has also increased. According to the Meteorological Department, rain will continue in Ratnagiri district till July 2.
