Authorities have increased the speed limit on the Dhaka Elevated Expressway from 60 kilometres per hour to 80 kilometres per hour, starting from February 27 night. Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) will file video-based cases against vehicles exceeding the speed limit, with fines starting at BDT 2,500 and doubling for repeat offences. Vehicles that violate the limit three times will face a ban from using the expressway.
