Biman Bangladesh Airlines has extended the suspension of flights from Dhaka to Riyadh and Dammam until November 4, citing passenger safety concerns following recent Houthi attacks on airports in Saudi Arabia.
The national flag carrier announced the decision in a press release on Sunday, October 25.
According to the statement, all Biman Bangladesh Airlines flights on the Dhaka–Riyadh and Dhaka–Dammam routes will remain suspended until November 4, based on Bangladesh time and date, due to the prevailing security situation following the reported attacks on Saudi airports.
Alternative Travel Routes for Passengers
To help passengers maintain their travel plans, Biman said travellers could use Jeddah and Madinah international airports as alternative entry and departure points for journeys between Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia.
The airline has been operating two daily flights on the Dhaka–Jeddah route since October 16 to meet increased passenger demand. These additional services will continue until November 4.
Meanwhile, scheduled flights between Dhaka and Madinah are continuing as usual, using Boeing 787 aircraft.
Updates and Ticket Information
Biman Bangladesh Airlines said it would announce further decisions regarding the suspended flights and revised travel schedules in due course.
Passengers seeking information about flights, ticket rescheduling or other travel-related matters have been advised to contact their nearest Biman Bangladesh Airlines sales centre.
Travellers booked on the affected Riyadh and Dammam routes should check directly with the airline for the latest updates before making alternative travel arrangements.
