Former Bangladesh national cricket team captain Tamim Iqbal has been discharged from the hospital and is now recovering at home. On March 24, while playing a match in the Dhaka Premier League (DPL), Tamim suffered a severe heart attack, leading to an emergency hospitalization. Thanks to prompt medical intervention, he has made a remarkable recovery.
Tamim was admitted to Evercare Hospital in Dhaka, where doctors successfully stabilized his condition. After receiving intensive care and undergoing an angiogram, doctors inserted a stent to clear the blocked artery. Before his transfer to Evercare, he initially sought medical attention at KPJ Hospital in Savar, where doctors performed CPR for 22 minutes and administered three DC shocks to revive him.
On March 28, after showing significant improvement, Tamim was discharged from the hospital. Doctors have advised him to undergo regular health check-ups, maintain a strict diet, and follow prescribed medications to prevent further complications.
For now, the positive news is that Tamim will be able to celebrate Eid with his family. However, his return to cricket remains uncertain, and doctors suggest it will take at least 3-4 months to determine whether he can resume playing.
