Brothers escape relegation, Partex go down

In a must-win match in the relegation phase of the Dhaka Premier League (DPL), Brothers Union dominated Partex Sporting Club with a commanding 113-run victory to secure their place in the top tier. Brothers concluded the relegation round with 9 points from 13 matches, while Partex (8 points) and Shinepukur (2 points) were relegated to the First Division.
At the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur, Brothers Union posted a strong total of 294 for 9 after electing to bat first. Mahfijul Islam Robin led the charge with a superb 98 off 97 balls, hitting 10 fours and 5 sixes, narrowly missing out on a century. Valuable contributions came from Maishukur Rahman (50), Aich Molla (48), and Mizanur Rahman (43). For Partex, Shahidul Islam, Alauddin Babu, and Yasin Muntasir each picked up two wickets.
In response, Partex collapsed to 181 all out despite a fighting 85 off 74 balls from opener Adil Bin Siddique and 33 from Ahrar Amin. None of the other batters could offer any resistance. Brothers’ bowling unit was led by Rakibul Atik and Alok Kapali, who both claimed three wickets, while Salauddin Shakil took two.
Meanwhile, Dhaka Leopards and City Club have earned promotion to the Premier League from the First Division.
